ABOUT
A HOME FOR ALL IN SACRAMENTO.
WHO WE ARE
The Mildred Flora Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising and distributing funds to support local efforts to end human trafficking, homelessness, food scarcity, and addiction in Sacramento. Our heart is to see Sacramento called home. By our definition, lovingly borrowed from the words of Frederick Buechner, “To be really at home is to be really at peace, and there can be no real peace for any of us until there is some measure of real peace for all of us.” We are driven to see Sacramento become this kind of home for all.
WHAT WE DO
The Mildred Flora Foundation hosts premiere fashion and creative events to advance arts and culture in our city and to provide funding to expand the efforts of local nonprofits serving our neighbors in need.
We have a variety of initiatives launching in the next 24 months, including the annual fashion show, clothing drive, creative forums, and the market. Get the latest updates regarding these and other activations on our "Events" page.
"MY HOPE IS, WE WILL GENERATE MOMENTUM TOWARD A BETTER FUTURE FOR ALL PEOPLE IN OUR CITY."
MORGAN THOMAS, FOUNDER

A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER

Hi there,
I’m Morgan, the founder of the Mildred Flora Foundation. It’s so nice to meet you!
I have two great passions in life. The first is people. I love people. Growing up, I lived in 3 different cities, attended 6 different schools, and dwelled in 9 different houses by the age of 14. So, when I think of home, I don’t think of structures and sidewalks; I think of people. People are my constant, my safe space, in the ever-changing world around me.
The second is fashion. The pages of magazines, racks of department stores, and runways of Paris incite in me wonder and excitement. Not for the perpetuation of over-consumerism, but for the incredible ability of designers to reflect both the current state of our humanity and the greatest hopes for our future in a single collection. Fashion isn’t founded in trend-seeking and assimilation. It’s an art form rooted in pushing the boundaries of societal norms and self-expression.
The Mildred Flora Foundation is my way of marrying these two loves. My hope is that we will create spaces where people are wholly loved and accepted while being uniquely themselves; a community that people can call home. And that we will generate momentum toward a better future for all people in our city.
I hope you'll join us in the journey forward.
Best,

THE MILDRED FLORA FOUNDATION IS FOUNDED IN LOVING MEMORY OF
